Kindle beechesgardenservicescouk  The Sett ePUB ´ sett ebok, The Sett ePUBA great thriller set mostly in the UK I read it because I so much enjoyed the author's other thriller The Feather Men which I in turn first watched and enjoyed as the film The author tells both stories as if they are fact and at the end the reader is left wondering whether the events described did in fact take placedThe author himself is a celebrated explorer former army man and aristocrat and so he has first hand experience of much of the action he describes and so the world he creates between the covers of the book is all the authentic It explores the shady worlds of badger baiting pharmaceuticals and hitmen into which an ordinary member of the public is unwitting drawn by tragically being in the wrong place at the wrong time It is far involved than the average thriller and takes the reader on an extensive and at times meandering journey into the various dark corners of the world the author describes; but it is no less gripping for that I grea

Kindle beechesgardenservicescouk  The Sett ePUB ´ sett ebok, The Sett ePUBIt isn't that this is a bad book It's I couldn't handle the depth of deprivation malice and pain that I had to slog through I couldn't finish it I've read the reviews and a lot of people really like this book so don't go by my review if you are into explicit crime

Kindle beechesgardenservicescouk  The Sett ePUB ´ sett ebok, The Sett ePUBFiennes claims the story contained within these pages is true to the best of his belief that it's the tale relayed to him by a man he met who had been impressed with his previous work and was looking for someone to convey his life to paper Whether it is or not is left to the reader to decideGoodman is a happily married accountant with a loving wife and daughter Things go wrong when he happens upon some nefarious badger killers he gets a bump on the noggin for his trouble and wakes up with complete amnesia From there he descends into an unlikely world of drug barons murderers thieves gangs rapists dog fighters assassins prostitutes dodgy coppers and the FBI The world that Fiennes portrays is a truly horrible one it's violent unforgiving and depressing In terms of realism I've no doubt these sort of people

Kindle beechesgardenservicescouk  The Sett ePUB ´ sett ebok, The Sett ePUBI wish I had never read this bookYes the story in itself is fine and the writing is decentBut it is the most depressing disturbing and upsetting account of human behaviours Every possible crime you can think of animal brutality paedophilia gang rape drugs gang violence murder human organ trafficking and the details corruption god only knows what else the author can think of is depicted in this bookI have no problem with reading gory stuff I just felt this went way overboardWhat did I take away from this book? Nothing What did I learn? Nothing Except how shallow and cruel our existence can be

Kindle beechesgardenservicescouk  The Sett ePUB ´ sett ebok, The Sett ePUBThe book can’t decide whether it is a thriller or documentary and conseuently fails at both As docu far too detailed as thriller violent unsavoury and amoral especially as it is highly probable Not for the sueamish and I wouldn’t really recommend it to anyone

Kindle beechesgardenservicescouk  The Sett ePUB ´ sett ebok, The Sett ePUBHard to believe that it's non fiction as it reads so much like a novel Also I thought that the prologue should have been the epilogue as it did serve as a bit of a spoiler in my opinion A decent read though

Kindle beechesgardenservicescouk  The Sett ePUB ´ sett ebok, The Sett ePUBas with the other Ranulph Fiennes novel KILLER ELITE there's a suggestiondebate about whether this is a 'based on testimony' from someone involved a source let's saycertain narrative developments in both The Sett AND Killer Elite for example the way the 'hero' isn't the guy who resolves some of the revenge attacks suggests a organic lifelike or realistic happenstance ie that it might be based on a true storyAnd forget that 'wife and daughter get murdered' subplot or 'driving storyline' It's probably rooted in the REAL case of the BBCI bank that it wants to admit I su
